Key Highlights from January 2024

My Dear Alumnus,

As we bid farewell to the first month of the year, I want to express my heartfelt appreciation for the resilience and determination you’ve shown throughout January. Remember, it’s not the absence of challenges that defines us but how we navigate through them.

Now that we are into February, let the lessons of January guide your path. May your renewed focus lead you toward a fulfilling and purposeful year.1. Alumni Chat – 28th January:

• Great participation, generating brilliant ideas on supporting the school and individuals.
• Updates on projects such as Wi-Fi installation, library renovation, pumpkin farming, and the Education Quality Improvement plan.

2. Upcoming Events:

• Generation Z Homecoming: Scheduled for 20th April at the college.
• Alumni Reunion: Planned for 28th September at the school.

3. Investment Opportunities:

• Discussed Uganda government bonds, unit trusts, and other saving options. Further research is ongoing.

4. Alumni Subscription:

• Resumed at UGX 50,000 per person.
• Generation Z Alumni subscription is UGX 30,000.

5. Alumni Life Insurance:

• Benefits include:
  • Death in Service: UGX 50,000,000
  • Permanent Disability: UGX 25,000,000
  • Critical Illness: UGX 25,000,000
  • Last Expense (Alumni): UGX 7,000,000
  • Last Expense (Spouse/Next of Kin): UGX 4,000,000
• Annual premium: UGX 265,000 per person.

6. School Farm:

• A new Farm and Estate Manager, Mr. Peter Tampa, begins on 1st February.

7. Iconic Office Building:

• Delayed due to pending permissions from the Ministry of Education for demolition.

8. Alumni Website:

• The website is live and evolving: Namasagali College Alumni.
